Hello! My name is Carolynn. I sew, make art quilts, and create my own one-of-a-kind fabrics. On this blog, I want to share what I am making and how fun creating and using your own fabrics can be, not just for art quilters, but for sewists and non-sewists alike.
What is my background?
I come from a family of art-makers and have been sewing and creating since I was little. Over the years I have explored a wide range of sewing and fabric related endeavors: quilting, home decor sewing, softie-making, knitting, bag making and embroidery to name a few. About five years ago, I found art quilting and began making my own hand-dyed fabrics for my projects. I fell in love creating unique fabrics from white cloth and a few supplies.
Why did I start this website?
I have spent a lot of time learning about fabric and about different sewing, dyeing and art-making techniques. I want to share that information with a community of people who are interested. I also want to do a little of show and tell. I love seeing what other people are making and I want to be part of the conversation too!
What’s the rest of my story?
I live in Ohio and right now, I am a full-time mom and part-time sewing/fabric-creating enthusiast. I am often creating with my three kids (ages 6, 4, and 2) “helping” and am constantly finding ways to include them in my sewing and art projects. Other than sewing, I love to bake too many cookies, read novels that are not too sad, and find bugs with my kids in the parks. And, I have cats…three in fact who love investigating my projects. I have lots of photos that look like this:
I hope you enjoy this blog!
